Weather of Odisha is notorious for hot weather conditions. However, the month of February when Pre-Monsoon doesn’t begin, weather becomes warm but not comfortable.

The state of Odisha has been witnessing dry weather conditions for quite a long time. While central and northern parts along with isolated pockets of East India have recorded some rains during the past few days, it has been Odisha which has continued to remain dry throughout.

Moreover, this year, the story was completely different for the month of February itself. Temperatures in most parts have been settling above the normal levels by 4 to 8 degrees over the 35-degree mark. In fact, some parts have been witnessing maximums in the late 30s as well.

Along with neighbouring areas of West Bengal and Jharkhand, the state of Odisha also recorded light rainfall activity. In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Balasore recorded 0.3 mm of rains, while Jharsuguda saw some trace of rains.

Now, recent rain has further increased the maximum temperatures in Odisha as humidity levels have increased the feel like temperatures. Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, humidity levels may decrease as winds will blow from the northwest direction. Thus, interior Odisha will get relief from humid conditions. However, coastal areas will continue to observe sky high maximums.
