The city of Bengaluru does not see hailstorms usually. Hailstorm usually is seen as per records in May but it is less than one occasion. This year has been one season wherein hailstorms were recorded in the city of Bengaluru.
Weather activities in Bengaluru this time have been unusual as rainfall has been unrelenting. For the past two to three days, hailstorm has also been seen. Moreover, 104 mm of rain has been recorded in 4 days. In fact, against the monthly rains of 128.7 mm of rains, 239 mm of rain has already been recorded.
Even for the rest of the month, we can expect rainfall activity along with thunderstorms and lightning. While it is normal to have Pre Monsoon activities but such an extended spell of rains in Bengaluru is rare in general.
