Pre-Monsoon activities have commenced over most parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Now back to back Western Disturbances are going to affect the Western Himalayas in terms of rain, thundershowers and isolated snowfall activity.

In the wake of these Western Disturbances, we expect induced cyclonic circulations to develop over parts of Northwest India especially over Rajasthan in the coming days. At times, a trough might also extend from this circulation up to parts of Uttar Pradesh or North Madhya Pradesh.

Thus, due to the combined effect of all these weather systems, on and off Pre-Monsoon activities are expected over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh during the coming one week.

These weather activities will keep the rising maximum temperatures under check. Even though the temperatures might not fall significantly but marginal relief from the ongoing heat is likely. And the day temperatures will not exceed 40˚C over the northwestern plains.

Isolated pockets of Haryana like Hisar and its adjoining areas of Northwest Rajasthan may witness maximums shooting up to 40˚C for short duration but continuous heat wave conditions will be ruled out.

The upcoming rain, thundershower and dust storm activities may be accompanied with hailstorm and strong winds. As whenever temperatures reach high-30’s moisture incursion occurs. This combination rises instability in the atmosphere and thunderclouds develop, which are capable of giving dust storm, thunderstorm and intense thundershowers at times.

As per reports, farmers belonging to northwest region of India especially in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have observed loss of crops due to strong winds and hailstorm activity.
