The Western Disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir region has given scattered rain and snowfall activity in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. Gulmarg and adjoining stations did record isolated weather activity during the last 24 hours.

In fact, the mid-reaches of the state also recorded isolated rain. As predicted by Skymet Weather, under the influence of the weather system, the reversal of winds from westerly to easterly took place over the Northern Plains.
The temperatures also took a U-turn and the minimums rose in Punjab and Haryana. Meanwhile, the maximums took a dip. The sky conditions remained mainly cloudy to partly cloudy in the hills and along the foothills.

As per weathermen, the Western Disturbance is likely to move away, clearing the region after 24 hours. Thus, the system is expected to give rain and snowfall activity in the higher reaches until tomorrow. Meanwhile, the mid and the lower reaches would only record light rain.
As predicted, Vaishno Devi failed to record any rainfall activity in the past day. It is expected that during the next 24 to 48 hours also, rain and snow will not occur over the region. The sky conditions will be cloudy. Meanwhile, bright sunshine will prevail during the daytime with comfortable weather conditions.
After 48 hours, the wind pattern will change once again. Due to this, the maximum temperatures are likely to rise and the minimums would fall across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and West Uttar Pradesh.
