The states of Chhattisgarh and Odisha have been observing good rains lately and during the last 24, moderate to heavy rains were reported in many parts of Chhattisgarh, while the intensity remained mainly light to moderate in parts of Odisha.
According to Skymet Weather, a Low Pressure Area is expected to develop over Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Odisha coast anytime now. This system will bring in fairly widespread rain and thundershower activities over Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Earlier, rainfall activities remained confined only to the southern districts of the states. However, the probable system would give good rains over the northern areas as well.
All these activities would be accompanied by strong winds. Moreover, one or two places might observe hailstorm activities. The chances of waterlogging cannot be ruled out either.
However, the intensity would comparatively be more over Odisha. These activities will continue until June 22. Thereafter, the system will weaken and activities will subside. However, on and off rain might continue for some more time in the region.
Moreover, the upcoming rains would help both the states in improving rainfall deficiency. The increased rainfall activities would also mark the onset of Monsoon in parts of Odisha.
In the wake of all these activities, temperatures will drop significantly in both the states making the weather pleasant and comfortable.
After June 22, the rain belt would shift towards Telangana and adjoining parts of Vidarbha, and start giving rains here.
