Rain in Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Agra

Uttar Pradesh has seen rains of varied intensity for the last 24 hours with some parts seeing heavy showers while some areas even saw light to moderate rainfall activity.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Jhansi saw three-digit rains to the tune of a whopping 106.4 mm of rainfall, Lucknow recorded 21.6 mm of rainfall, Muzaffarnagar 38.8 mm, Varanasi 10 mm, Agra 5 mm, Bahraich 23 mm, Bareilly 6.2 mm, Hardoi 1.6 mm.

A cyclonic circulation is over Southwest parts of Uttar Pradesh. Another circulation is over northern parts of Coastal Odisha and adjoining areas. The axis of Monsoon trough is also passing across central parts of Uttar Pradesh.

Under all these conditions, sky is expected to remain cloudy to overcast over many parts of the state. Thus, rain intensity will increase over Uttar Pradesh due to which moderate rains will continue over many parts with heavy showers in some parts during the next 24 to 48 hours.

Lightning strikes are also expected over some parts during this period. Day temperatures are expected to decrease over the state.

Cities of Allahabad, Kaushambi, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Varanasi, Mahoba, Kanpur may see heavy spells of rains. Meanwhile, Lucknow, Agra, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Bareilly may see moderate rains.
