At present due to the withdrawal of Monsoon, the weather conditions over most parts of country have gone dry and warm. However, rains are still going over few parts of South and East & Northeast India.

Talking about the states of Chhattisgarh and Odisha, mainly dry weather with scattered light rains is prevailing over both these states since the last few days. But during the last 24 hours, few coastal stations of Odisha recorded light rainfall activity.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Chandabali recorded very light rain to the tune of 0.6 mm.

Both the states have shown normal performance during this Southwest Monsoon season. In fact, Odisha is rain surplus by 13% and Chhattisgarh deficient by only 4%.

At present, northeasterly winds are prevailing over Odisha and Chhattisgarh region, these winds are moist and warm in nature. Due to the mixing of these winds over both the states, the southern parts of Odisha and adjoining parts of South Chhattisgarh are likely to receive light to moderate rains and thundershower activity over few places.

These on and off rains will continue during the next two to three days. But due to the lack of moisture over norther parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh region, the weather conditions will mainly remain dry.
