Rain to reduce in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat but will continue in Maharashtra

November 20, 2021 12:53 PM |

During the last few days, heavy rain activities have been observed at many places over Gujarat and South East and South Rajasthan. The southwest districts of Madhya Pradesh have received heavy rains but the rest of the parts have received light rain activities. Talking about Maharashtra, rain activities have been good in many districts of Madhya Maharashtra but Mumbai including Vidarbha Marathwada recorded light rain.

A low pressure is over Arabian Sea and from there a trough is running up to West Madhya Pradesh. Cold and dry winds from the North-West direction and moist winds from the South-East were meeting these states. Due to the combined effect of all these weather systems, these rain activities were taking place.

On November 20, light rain activities are likely to continue over eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat including Rajasthan. After that, the weather will become dry in all these states and cold winds will start blowing from the north-west direction, due to which the temperature will drop.

However, rain activities will still continue over many parts of Maharashtra. Moderate rain is possible over South Madhya Maharashtra and South Konkan and Goa. The districts that will be affected by this are Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri, the remaining parts will see only light rain.

Between November 1 and November 19, Maharashtra has received 15% more rainfall than normal. Due to the continuous rain for the next 3 or 4 days, there will be no drop in the minimum temperature and they will remain near normal or above normal.
