Rains begin to lash Kolkata, more showers in offing

As reiterated by Skymet Weather, rain and thundershowers have started lashing the Kolkata city on Wednesday morning. Rain bearing clouds were seen engulfing the city since early morning, resulting in light rain over the city.

At present, also, the city of joy is witnessing weather activity that is likely to continue for an hour or so. Thereafter, light drizzle may continue. All thanks to the trough extending from Assam up to Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Gangetic West Bengal.

Gusty winds are also blowing across Kolkata, paving way for the pleasant weather conditions.

Rains may take a break during the afternoon, but with the availability of lots of moisture in the atmosphere along with the rise in mercury, convective clouds are likely to form again during the late afternoon or evening hours. With this, we can expect another spell of rain and thundershowers during that period.
