For the past few days, most parts of North Indian plains have been witnessing extremely cold weather conditions. Temperatures have been settling well below the normal levels resulting in both cold wave as well as cold day conditions.

However, during the last 24 hours, there has been a significant increase in both the minimum as well as the maximum temperatures. As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, temperatures are expected to increase even further.

As far as the hilly states are concerned, snowfall has become a common feature with several hill stations being lashed with heavy rain and snowfall. There has been a breather during the last two to three days.

However, now a fresh Western Disturbance is approaching the hills of North India today evening onward. Not only this, another Western Disturbance will follow the present one on January 24 resulting in a rainy as well as a snowy week ahead for Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

Two induced cyclonic circulations are also likely to form under the systems’ influence. Thus, the plains of North India are expected to witness a rainy spell. Between January 24 and 27, Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi, North Madhya Pradesh as well as West Uttar Pradesh will receive light to moderate rains.

Not only this, parts of Peninsular India are also expected to observe some rainfall activity around January 27. During this time, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and South Interior Karnataka may receive some good rains. Chennai and Bengaluru will also record some rains.
