The offshore trough extending from Coastal Maharashtra to Kerala is strengthening gradually. Consequently, widespread Monsoon showers are expected over many places along the West Coast.

The weather system may give heavy to very heavy showers at some places over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala during next 4 to 5 days.

The state has received scanty rainfall so far this month. At present Kerala is witnessing about -29% deficient  Monsoon rains. The last good spell of rain witnessed in Kerala this Monsoon was in end of June. Click here to read the full article, Kerala finally witnesses good Monsoon rain.
