The month of September did not bring good news for Surat and its adjoining areas of Gujarat. In fact, it seemed like Southwest Monsoon was done with Gujarat and rains would not make a comeback at all. However, rain gods had something different in store for the region.

At present, a fresh upper air cyclonic circulation has formed over Gujarat and adjoining areas. This weather system currently persists and many areas of South Gujarat have been receiving heavy rains for the past 48 hours.

During the last 24 hours, a few good showers have been recorded over isolated areas. In fact, a few areas have witnessed heavy spells as well. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Bulsar recorded a good 56 mm of rain. Mahuva received a good 9 mm of rainfall.

Not only this, 13 mm of rainfall was also recorded in Surat resulting in pleasant weather conditions over the city.

Due to the present weather system, the next 24 hours are going to be as rainy. In fact, the possibility of a few very heavy spells during this period cannot be ruled out during this period.
