It seems that northwesterly and northerly winds are likely to continue in Gujarat for the next 24 hours. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Northeast Madhya Pradesh. A trough from this system is extending towards South across Madhya Maharashtra and Karnataka region.

These winds are moist and warm in nature. Amidst this, the heat wave condition is likely to continue over parts of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Marathwada.

As the winds are likely to sustain in the next 24 hours, temperatures are likely to increase over North Konkan, Surat, Amreli, Mumbai and Ratnagiri during the next 48 hours. Mumbai may even touch 37°C to 39°C degree mark during this period

Winds are likely to change due to the system, and will be mainly Southwesterly over Gujarat region. The same wind will turn towards Madhya Pradesh and likely to cool down the temperature. The trough in westerlies will enhance the rain and thundershower activities over Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, many parts of Maharashtra, between April 15 and 17. Even few parts of Gujarat and coastal Maharashtra may receive light rains between April 15 and 17.

It is foreseen that fairly widespread activity and change in wind direction will lead to abatement of heat wave over entire parts of Central India. The temp may drop down to the range of 34°-35° C during this tenure.
