The three digit rainfall saga continues in India. In fact, the country has received about 2 times more rainfall than normal over the last 2 days. Therefore, rainfall deficiency has now come down to 0% as the country has received 205.9 mm of rainfall against the normal of 206.7 mm, from June 1 to July 7, 2016.

This could be attributed to the well-marked low pressure area over South Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas of Madhya Pradesh, which has now intensified into a depression.

In Madhya Pradesh, places like Narsimhapur, Satna, Guna and Rewa recorded above 100 mm rainfall on Tuesday. Vigorous Monsoon conditions continue along the West Coast as well. Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh also recorded 136 mm of rainfall in a span of 24 hours, from 8.30 am on Tuesday:

Here's a look at the places which received more than 100 mm of rainfall on Tuesday:

Heavy Monsoon rains to continue mainly over Central India, mainly Madhya Pradesh, parts of Vidarbha, northern parts of Marathwada and parts of Chhattisgarh for the next 24 to 48 hours. Few isolated heavy spells are likely along the West Coast, Sikkim, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
