Ujjain, Hoashangabad, Bhopal, Seoni to continue with good rains

Madhya Pradesh has been witnessing moderate to heavy intensity of rains since the past few days. Few places have also been recording three digits of hefty showers. The southern parts of the state received very heavy rains in the last 24 hours as anticipated by Skymet Weather.

Light rains and thundershowers also occurred over most parts of the state. The eastern and northern parts of the state received light to moderate intensity spells. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday, Hoshangabad witnessed heavy rain of 140 mm and Seoni 92 mm of rain.

In the same span of time, Ujjain recorded moderate intensity rain of 31 mm, Gondia 34 mm, Khandwa 33 mm, Malanjkhand 30 m, Chindwara 24 mm and Bhopal 15 mm. Light rain of 12 mm was also recorded in Indore and Dhar.

As per Skymet Weather, the hefty showers occurred due to the Low-Pressure area over Chhattisgarh which has moved in the west direction and presently seen over southwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining area. Another weather system which is an associated upper air cyclonic circulation is also extending up to upper tropospheric level.

This weather system is likely to move west towards Gujarat. It is anticipated that rainfall activity is likely to continue in the southwest parts of the state. Moderate spells at many places heavy and heavy at few are likely over the city. Rainfall activity is likely to increase over the northern parts also. Places such as Gwalior, Guna, Rajgarh and southeastern parts will receive scattered light rains.
