November 30, 2021 9:08 PM |

The state of Maharashtra is all set to see some good rains starting tonight. These rains are unseasonal as the state does not see such rains during the post Monsoon season.

At present, a Western Disturbance is lying as an upper air system in the mid and the higher tropospheric levels. This system is interacting with the Cyclonic Circulation, which is over Northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Gujarat region. Along with this, a low pressure area is expected to form over East Central Arabian Sea. A trough is also running along the Maharashtra Coast in the lower levels.

Due to these weather features, rains are expected to see all along the Konkan Coast including the city of Mumbai, right from Ratnagiri to Dahanu. Moreover, Mumbai may see some heavy rains tomorrow. Areas including North Madhya Maharashtra including Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar are expected to see some good rains. Some rains are likely to be seen in Pune, Nashik as well tomorrow. Rainfall activity in parts of Sangli Satara Kolhapur, Solapur also cannot be ruled out.

Meanwhile, both the Marathwada as well as the Vidarbha region are not expected to see rains during this period.
