The low-pressure area over southeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas is persisting over the same region. The associated cyclonic circulation now extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Jammu, Dehradun, Badaun, the centre of the low-pressure area over southeast Uttar Pradesh, Daltonganj and Digha, and then extends southeastwards to the northeast Bay of Bengal.
The cyclonic circulation over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh now lies over South Bangladesh and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal, between 1.5 and 5.8 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height.
A trough now extends from the northwest Bay of Bengal to northeast Rajasthan across Odisha, North Chhattisgarh and North Madhya Pradesh, between 3.1 and 4.5 km above mean sea level.
