Many parts of the state of Karnataka are in for a treat as a prolonged rainy spell is approaching the region. During this spell, we can expect south interior Karnataka and coastal Karnataka to receive moderate to heavy rain in a few places starting today. On the other hand, north interior Karnataka is expected to see slightly lesser rains as compare to the other two sub divisions.
Cities of Chamrajnagar, Chitradurga, Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Hasan, Mandya, Karwar etc. may see good rainfall activities during this period. On some days, one can see heavy spells as well. As we proceed, activities in Coastal Karnataka will increase.
These rains will be attributed to the Cyclonic Circulation which is shifting closer to the West Coast, over Kerala and adjoining interior Karnataka. The off shore trough is also extending along the west coast. Another system si coming up over East Coast, whose trough will extend from Andhra Pradesh, tamil Nadu up to South Interior Karnataka.
