October 18, 2016 5:22 PM |

Northeast Monsoon seems to be quite weak at present. We will witness rains picking up only by the fag end of the month.

As of now, the cyclonic circulation over southwest Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu coast persists. A tough is extending from this system to the Arakan Coast where another cyclonic circulation has developed. Due to this moderate to heavy rains will continue over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. One or two places will receive extremely heavy rains as well. Light rain is possible over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Other places in South Peninsula will remain dry.

A feeble cyclonic circulation will persist over Tripura and adjoining areas. Therefore, scattered light rains will occur over Tripura and Mizoram.

Temperatures in Gujarat and West Rajasthan will continue to remain in higher thirties. Whereas other parts of the country will have day temperatures hovering around mid-thirties.

Due to continuous flow of dry northwesterly winds and clear sky conditions, night temperatures in central parts of India particularly Vidarbha and adjoining South Madhya Pradesh will remain much cooler. Minimums will settle between 13 and 16 degree Celsius. Weather will remain dry in rest of India.
