Coastal Tamil Nadu to receive light rain

Rain in KanyakumariExtreme coastal parts of Tamil Nadu are expected to receive light rain in next 24 hours.  According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, a trough prevailing over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka coast will give scattered to light rain over coastal parts of the state. While heavy rain will be confined to Sri Lanka.

Several areas such as Karaikal, Nagapattinam, Pamban, Nagarcoil, Ramanathapuram, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari are likely to receive rain.

In wake of the system, maximum temperatures have dropped to settle between 29°C and 32°C. While minimum temperatures have remained unaffected and continue to settle between 21°C and 23°C.

As per the latest forecast by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, rain over coastal Tamil Nadu will cease as the system moves further south after next 24 hours. Following this, the temperatures will also crawl back to their normal levels.

Meanwhile, interior parts of the state will continue to witness dry weather conditions with bright sunny days.

Ever since the Northeast Monsoon has retreated from southern peninsula, Tamil Nadu has not witnessed any major weather activity. However, it has been experiencing occasional light rain over isolated places.
