Treat your taste buds at Delhi Palate Festival this winter

palate CroppedThere is no better way to satiate a human soul than mouth-watering food. And if it is the winter season when the appetite increases automatically, thanks to the pleasant warm days and cold evenings, a food festival may come as an added advantage.

Good food, few drinks, a little bit of music and entertainment - sufficient ingredients for a recipe of the good time.

This winter, founders of Palate Fest, Aditi Kapoor and Ruchi Sibal, have a pre-holiday bonanza for food lovers in the form of the Delhi Palate Festival. The three day gastronomical adventure begins today, 28th November and lasts till Sunday, 30th November, 2014 at Nehru Park, gates 1 & 3.

The food carnival gives you a chance to experience the best of both worlds, i.e. food and weather, at one place.

The entire theme of the food extravaganza is based on the Taste of London and is a rally of over 40 top notch city restaurants. This weekend feast is one of the first of its kind to be held in the national capital. The food safari begins at 11.00 a.m. and continues till 10.00 p.m. Furthermore live performances by some popular bands complement the good food. You can also learn a dish or two from some of the popular celebrity chefs. The entry to the palate festival is free but if you wish to be a part of the demo cooking lessons, you will need to pay an amount of Rs. 500 – 750.

Some of the participating restaurants include Akira Back from JW Marriott, Choko La, Khan Chacha, Farzi Cafe, Hungry Monkey, Oberoi Patisserie & Delicatessen, Le Bistro, Olive, Alaturka, Giani and many more. The participating chefs include The Leela Gurgaon's Kunal Kapoor and Ramon Salto, J.W. Marriott's Chef Kurt Nyren Michael, Chokola's Chef Christian Vautier, and others.

Whether you wish to have baked potatoes with succulent fillings or a Kerala Pepper Fry Burger; or may be a Chocolate Nougat Cake to sweeten your taste buds; you will find it all at the Delhi Palate Festival. All the food items have been reduced to smaller helpings so that visitors can get a bite of each delicacy without spending a fortune.

The entire Nehru park has been divided into seven zones namely the Market Zone, Pink Zone, Demo Zone, Orange Zone, Blue Zone, Red Zone. You can carry some unique & organic products home from the market zone. The Pink Zone consists of the VIP as well as the Demo zone. While the former comprises the VIP clients, hospitality tents and journalists, the latter hosts culinary wizards spreading their magic. The orange zone is specially designed to gratify the needs of the little ones. The blue zone consists of the palate lounge along with the main stage where you can see bands like Menwhopause, Astitva, Yellow Bucket, and others perform. Lastly, the Red Zone lets you enjoy open-style picnic eating where you can buy food from various stalls and relish them under the soothing November sun.
