Since 2016, the base station Safdarjung has breached the 37°C mark only twice in the month of October. The day maximum had reached 37.2°C on 02nd October 2024. Earlier, the day maximum crossed the 37°C mark and clocked a high of 37.1°C on 03rd October 2026.

There is a western disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir as an upper-air system. A cyclonic circulation is marked over the border areas of North Punjab and the adjoining Pakistan region. An east-west trough is extending from the circulation to the foothills of Uttarakhand. The weather activity will remain confined to that area and keep a safe distance for the next about three days.

Another western disturbance is likely to approach the mountains on 09th October. The spread of weather activity will increase, and the peripherals may reach Delhi and the neighbourhood. This activity will happen between 09th and 11th October. Scattered rainfall is likely over Delhi/NCR during this period and more so on 10th October. The weather activity may get extended to the start of next week as well.
