Delhi Rains: Minimal Weather Activities Till Mid-Week, More Showers In Second Half
Delhi/NCR observed cloudy conditions but mostly dry weather during the past 24 hours. Isolated places like Narela, Noida, and Ghaziabad had very light rain for a brief duration. Similar conditions will prevail till Wednesday, and a twist in the weather conditions will follow in the latter half of the week. Earlier, the city witnessed a heavy downpour on Friday night and moderate showers on Saturday morning. Thereafter, it has generally been quiet, and very little is expected till mid-week.

Typical break-monsoon conditions are prevailing, wherein the monsoon trough has shifted north of its normal position, close to the foothills. The western end of the trough is passing through Amritsar, Patiala, Bareilly, and Gorakhpur. A western disturbance moving across the mountains is pulling the trough northward and is expected to stay so till 13th August. A change in the wind pattern and the southward drift of the monsoon trough will result in a change in the weather conditions.
A low-pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal on 13th August 2025. The weather system will move across the eastern and central parts of the country. The easterly wind stream will strengthen and sweep the Indo-Gangetic plains, covering the Delhi region as well. On 14th, 15th, and 16th August, the trough will remain a little south of Delhi but in close proximity. Later, as the low pressure moves inland to run across the central parts, the trough will be relocated and positioned far south of Delhi.
Very light and isolated weather activity is expected over the Delhi area between 11th and 13th August 2025. Moderate intermittent rain and thundershowers are likely between 14th and 17th August. The distancing of the monsoon trough will substantially reduce the intensity and spread of monsoon showers between 18th and 20th August. The easterly stream will become strong in the lower levels during this period. Day temperatures will hover close to 34°–35°C till Wednesday and drop thereafter by about 2°–3°C.
