Recently, the northern plains of the country including Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh have experienced good rainfall activities. However, the Western Disturbance that was giving these rains has moved away due to which the weather of northern plains has been dry since the last 24 hours.

Meteorologists at Skymet do not expect any significant rainfall activities in the plains of North India for the next two to three days. Thereafter, another fresh Western Disturbance is expected to approach the Western Himalayas by March 11 and start giving rain and snow in the hills. Gradually, rains will cover the northern plains as well.

The rainfall activities will commence from Northwest Rajasthan and will gradually extend up to Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR and West Uttar Pradesh.

Rains will taper from Delhi and NCR and North Rajasthan on March 12, however, may continue in North Punjab and Haryana with good intensity.

By March 13, the weather activity is likely to once again increase and almost all parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi NCR as well as West Uttar Pradesh may experience rain and thundershowers. The National Capital Territory stands a chance to observe a few good spells of rain. Isolated hailstorm activity is also likely in parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan during this span.
