Fairly widespread rain and snow have been lashing Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand lately. These weather activities are a result of an intense Western Disturbance over the Western Himalayas.

According to Skymet Weather, another fresh Western Disturbance (comparatively feeble in nature) has approached the Western Himalayas. This system is likely to give good rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and western parts of Himachal Pradesh for the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, East Himachal Pradesh is expected to get isolated rain and snow.

On the other hand, Uttarakhand would be almost dry with light weather activities.

By tomorrow, the Western Disturbance is likely to move away owing to which the weather may become clear.

But, another weather system ( comparatively intense in nature) may approach the northern hills on March 11 and it will trigger fresh rain and snow in the region.

The weather activities may commence by the night of March 11 and are likely to continue until March 13. During this span, we expect fairly widespread rain and snow leading to landslides, mudslides and road blockage.

This is going to be the second strong Western Disturbance of March which would bring along good rain and snow for the hilly states.
