Delhi and the NCR region has seen some good pre-monsoon rains in the month of May. If we talk about prolonged heat, the typical May heat remained almost absent from the city.

In June, temperatures did show a rising trend but still have not stayed above normal for a very long time. Even now, the maximums remain below normals. However, as far as rains in June are concerned, they have been disappointing so far. The monthly average rains for June is at 80.6 mm and so far only 20.2 mm has been witnessed.

More rains are likely wherein some light showers may be seen today as well. Between June 22 and 24, we can expect rains to be far and few, and only isolated rains are expected, otherwise remaining mostly dry. Rains will pick up again on June 25 in view of the low pressure moving inland and shifting the trough close to Delhi. These showers will continue until the month end. Temperatures will remain suppressed during that time.
