Gujarat: Cold week ahead, night temperature to settle below normal in Naliya, Bhuj, Deesa and Mehsana

Dry weather conditions have been prevailing in Gujarat since the start of February month. There hasn’t been rain or any other weather activity during this 4 day period but the nights have been cold.

According to the weather models at Skymet, the night temperature in the state is settling 4-5 degrees below the normal average. In fact, several places in the state have been observing single digit minimums for the last couple of days.

For instance, Naliya and Bhuj in the Kutch region and Deesa, Idar, Palanpur, Sidhpur and Mehsana in North Gujarat are witnessing the night temperature settle below the normal average.

Senior meteorologists at Skymet say that similar weather condition (Cold nights) is going to prevail in the state for a week. However, the days will be comfortable.

By February 11 the cold night conditions will start to ease and warm weather will start to prevail in Gujarat. In fact, by mid-February, the weather in Gujarat starts to change and one starts to get the summer-like feel.

By the end of February, the day temperature in the state can touch 38 to 39 degrees Celsius at many places like Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat. But before the people of the state get to witness this warm condition they have to battle one week of cold nights.
