At present, heat wave conditions are prevailing over most parts of Vidarbha region in Maharashtra. In fact, few parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh are witnessing heat wave like conditions.
Yesterday, Chandrapur recorded its maximum temperature at 46.8˚C, followed by Nagpur 46.3˚C, Bilaspur 46.2˚C, Brahmapuri 45.9˚C, Wardha 45.5˚C, Jharsuguda 45.4˚C and Ramagundam 45.2˚C.
Now dry and warm northwesterly/westerly winds are prevailing over northwest and central parts of the country. In fact, the feeble Western Disturbance is moving away from parts of Western Himalayas. Hence, temperatures will be increasing over most parts of Northwest, Central and few parts of South India.
This rising trend will continue for the coming three to four days. Thus, heat wave like conditions would be spreading over few more parts of northwest and central India.
The western parts of Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema will be under the grip of heat wave conditions during the next 24 to 48 hours.
Rayalaseema and coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh may get relief due to clouding and thundershowers at scattered places during next 48 hours, as due to southwesterly winds temperatures in these areas will drop.
Moreover, due to prevalence of dry winds and clear sky, southern parts of Uttar Pradesh and North Maharashtra may also observe heat wave like condition.
