Maharashtra gets its first rain of November

November 5, 2021 5:12 PM |

A Low Pressure Area is over Southeast Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep and a Low Pressure Line is extending up to Maharashtra Coast. Due to the combined effect of these weather features, light to moderate rain activities were observed over many parts of Maharashtra during the last 24 hours. Rain was recorded in Pune, Satara, Mahabaleshwar, Ratnagiri and Goa.

However, the northern districts of Maharashtra and Marathwada and Vidarbha remained dry. Even today, there is a possibility of rain in many districts of Madhya Maharashtra including Goa. Mumbai and its adjoining areas may remain cloudy or scattered with isolated rain or thundershowers at one or two places.

On November 6, the rain activities will reduce significantly but the southern districts of Maharashtra are likely to see scattered rain. The weather of Maharashtra in the month of November is generally pleasant. Rain activities are seen only due to the influence of any weather system forming in the Arabian Sea which is being seen this time.

Most of the districts of Maharashtra receive single digit average rainfall for the month from November to March. The rainfall activity starts increasing from April and increases significantly during monsoon. The weather of Maharashtra is likely to become dry once again from November 7.
