March April and May are pre-monsoon months. Maximum temperature tends to increase during the pre-monsoon season over Northwest and Central India. Pre-monsoon activities usually start during the latter half of March over parts of northwest and Central India.

This year temperature starts soaring in February itself and since start of March pre monsoon activities have commenced over parts of Rajasthan. Rain and thundershowers associated with hailstorm and strong winds have already occurred over Rajasthan during last 24 hours.

Western districts of Madhya Pradesh, southern parts of Gujarat and many parts of Vidarbha, north Madhya Maharashtra and North Konkan and Goa will also witness rain and thundershower activities in next 3 to 4 days. Intensity of rain will be less over Gujarat in comparison to Maharashtra. Parts of Vidarbha may witness hailstorm activities also.

There will be a mixed response of these weather activities. Pre monsoon showers will certainly benefit the crops but hailstorm and strong winds may damage the standing crops.
