Rains to continue over Pune, to pick up pace September 4 onward

As had been forecast by Skymet, Pune has received very light rain amounting to 1 mm during the last 24 hours. These rain activities were in the presence of a Cyclonic Circulation over the Northeast Arabian Sea.

In fact, Pune has not received any significant rains for the last many days now. Only on and off light to very light rains are going on over the city.

Now also we do not expect any significant rainfall activities over the city. However, isolated light rains may continue until September 4.

Thereafter from September 5 to September 8, a marginal increase in rain activities is expected. Moderate showers are a possibility. However, any heavy rains are ruled out for at least next eight to ten days. Weather may remain comfortable throughout.

However, during the first week of August the city has received moderate to heavy rains. But since then weather is almost dry with isolated light rains. Temperatures are in the comfortable range between 28 to 29 degrees. Minimum temperatures are in the range of 20 to 21 degrees.

Pune’s monthly average rainfall for August is 122.3 mm which is not very high. Already, Pune has reached near normal due to good rains in the first week of August.
