The north-eastern region of India sees good monsoon rains throughout the season. However, whenever there is a system forming in the Bay of Bengal, rainfall automatically reduces over Northeast India as the wind pattern becomes easterly in nature and the entire wind concentration goes towards the system.

Rainfall had reduced over north-east India as there was a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, however, the system has now moved away in East India resulting in the change in wind pattern to south westerly over Northeast India.

These rainfall activities will be a week long affair. Moreover, rainfall activity will begin on August 3 and continue until August 8 at least. More rainfall activity will be seen over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya as compare to Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. However, all these areas will be witnessing rains for the next one week
