Relief for Rajasthan and Gujarat from pre monsoon showers

Many districts of Rajasthan have been battered by rain, thundershowers, strong winds and hailstorm during March. Untimely rainfall has damaged the crops across the state. Lakhs of hectares of crop is damaged which has increased the misery of farmers. West Rajasthan remained surplus by 249% and East Rajasthan by 452% in March.

Average rainfall of Gujarat is very less during March. March is considered as a dry month for Gujarat. Monthly average rain in March for Saurashtra and Kutch is just 0.2 mm, whereas actual rainfall is 15.9 mm that is why the surplus stands at whooping 7845%. Average for Gujarat region 0.3 mm and actual rain is 11.5mm and surplus is 3722%.

Weather is expected to go dry now over Gujarat and Rajasthan for at least next one week. This will be a huge relief to farming community as harvesting is going on over these states. There will be bright sunshine and temperatures will rise. Gujarat will witness dry weather whereas there may be isolated light rain over Northwest Rajasthan on April 3rd and 4th. The impact of upcoming Western disturbance will remain up to Punjab, Haryana, and hills. Pre monsoon activities usually increases in the month of April over Rajasthan, but most parts of Gujarat remain dry. Therefore, chances of dust storm and thunderstorm will increase in the latter part of April over Rajasthan but we do not expect any significant weather activity for Gujarat now.
