The Low Pressure Area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas intensified into a well marked low pressure area. The system is presently marked over extreme southern parts of Central Bay of Bengal adjoining Equatorial parts.

The main cluster of clouds associated with this system is seen between 8-12 degrees North and the system is moving from east to west and should be reaching in close proximity to the Sri Lanka region.

With this, rains will be seen over Southern parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala. The peripherals of this system should be reaching the coast of Tamil Nadu and adjoining region by today which will result in light to moderate rains over parts of Tamil Nadu.

Weather activities will be seen over Tamil Nadu for the next three days. Rains will be seen over southern parts of Tamil Nadu more as compare to the other parts of the state. The activity may spill over to adjoining parts of Kerala as well. In fact, we do not expect anything significant and only light to moderate rains will be seen over some parts.

The system is showing signs of moving a little further south towards the equator, and if that happens not only the system weakens, its influence and impacts reduces over southern peninsula.
