MUST WATCH: Storm Mars hits Bahamas-bound cruise ship

February 9, 2016 12:03 PM |

Passengers travelling in one of the largest cruise ships in the world, the Royal Caribbean Cruise ship just witnessed a night full of terror. Their vacation quickly turned into a nightmare after the ship was caught in the Winter Storm Mars.

The ship battled through waves as high as 30 feet along with gusty winds of 125 mph for many hours. The travellers aboard the ship were horrified after the ship took a major beating from Storm Mars. Not only did the ship, which was travelling from the New York City area to Florida have a rendezvous with the storm, but it also sailed into the heart of the storm.

The passengers said that the ship was tilted at almost a 45-degree angle. They were actually terrified and said that they had never seen something like this before. The ship was somewhere to the east of the South Carolina Coast when it witnessed the torrential storm.

The ship was on its way to the Bahamas, and was supposed to dock in Port Canaveral, Florida before moving on towards its destination. However, the ship changed its course after the violent storm incident. The Anthem of the Seas is the third largest cruise ship in the world and can hold more than 5500 people including passengers and crew members in 2090 cabins.
