Severe weather causes damage and injuries in Alabama and Mississippi

Extreme weather struck the South United States on Tuesday. It has caused both damage and injuries in several parts of Alabama and Mississippi.

Violent storms swept through parts of Northern Alabama through Tuesday night. One of these storms also hit Colbert County. A home was intensely damaged in Tuscumbia, two people were found injured.

The storms have poured heavy rain over many northwestern parts of Alabama, and in Florence, the police asked drivers to avoid flooded roads.

There were also reports of tornadoes that occurred in Mississippi earlier Tuesday evening, before the storms hit Alabama city.

The downpours produced large hail and prompted tornado warnings across most parts of Mississippi on Tuesday. There were baseball and golf ball-sized hail that hit the central and northern parts of the Magnolia State on Tuesday.

As per weather reports, a tornado in Noxubee County in Mississippi had trapped people inside a camp house on Ebenezer Church Road on Tuesday. Four homes were destroyed along this road.

In Scott, Mississippi, a 250- to 300-yard swath of damage was reported from Highway 481 to Debates Road. Moreover, in Grenada, Mississippi, three homes on McSwine Road were damaged by storm winds.
