Tuesday to be third warmest day for Sydney

After a relief from extreme warmth on Sunday, Sydneysiders are likely to witness another hot night on Tuesday. According to weather experts, it is probably going to be the third warmest night on record, with night temperature settling at 27°C.

While day temperatures will settle around 31.2°C between 3 and 4pm on Tuesday, the overnight temperature is not expected to give any relief and will remain above 27°C until 2am when it is most likely to fall to 26.7°C.

Wednesday is anticipated to be just another hot day until the weather conditions change.

By 9am, the city’s temperature will reach at least 34°C and it would be near to 40°C by 11am. However, it is most probably drop to the high 20s around afternoon hours, and then will ease off gradually.

As of Monday night, residents can presume temperatures to plummet below 25°C after 8pm and continue to remain in the low 20s until 9am on Tuesday.

Previously Sydney city's hottest night was recorded at 27.6°C on February 6, 2011. Last year, the second warmest night was recorded at 27.1°C on December 14.

Light rains are also expected from Wednesday to Sunday across Sydney city, with possibilities of a thunderstorm on Wednesday afternoon.
