Along with a series of severe storms and torrential rains, at least two tornadoes have been reported to have touched down in Missouri on Monday evening. The hefty storms resulted in damaging properties including homes in the north and east of the Kansas City metro area.

The National Weather Service had already issued severe tornado warnings for parts of Boone County including Columbia and Hallsville. Yet these tornadoes left little damage. In fact, the tornado warnings were raised for the west and northwest Missouri.

There were significant damages reported in the Oak Grove area east of Kansas City, in Smithville north of Kansas City and in the Kansas suburbs of Leawood and Olathe. But, any number of any fatalities have not been reported so far.

As per the weatherman, strong destructive winds and hail entered the Boone County leaving more than thousands without power. As per the utility’s online outage map, more than 2,800 customers were living without power.

The regions that were on high tornado watch through 4 am includes Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cole and Moniteau counties.

Moreover, until Tuesday evening several area counties are also under a fire weather watch. The forecaster claims that due to low humidity and destructive winds, chances of outdoor fires could easily spread out.
