Hot weather conditions have made a grand entrance over the sunshine state, Queensland and residents seem to be enjoying it. So much so that Brisbane has observed the warmest day in the month of July in a good 70 years.
The last time such weather conditions were observed was in the year 1946. During this time, the maximum had reached 29.1 degree Celsius back then.
These weather conditions can be attributed a trough running in close proximity of Queensland which is why warm winds from the north have been causing hot weather conditions.
The entire south-east region has been witnessing warm weather with several records being broken all across the region. So much so that temperatures in the Sunshine Coast reached as high as 31.4 degree Celsius, beating the record of a previous 27.7 degrees.
Gold Coast also witnessed a high maximum of 29.6 degrees against its record of 26.9 degree Celsius. Throughout the month of July, Gold Coast Seaway observation, Archerfield, and Brisbane Airport have witnessed record breaking temperatures.
However, conditions are likely to witness a turn again as mercury is likely to witness a drop once again starting Sunday. Due to the change in wind direction, winter like conditions will make a comeback. However, days will continue to be sunny and clear.
