National Weather Video Report For 21-05-2015

May 20, 2015 10:19 PM |

Temperatures across most parts of North India had dropped after a severe dust storm on Tuesday had swept across most parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi-NCR, and west Uttar Pradesh. The activity was triggered by a cyclonic circulation prevailing over North Rajasthan and adjoining area, changing the wind pattern from hot north-westerlies to warm south-westerlies. However, day temperatures are now going to rise again over North India, with isolated Dust storm and thunderstorm activities to continue over the plains. Meanwhile Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir continues to give scattered light rain over hilly region. Consequently, the heat pocket has now shifted from Rajasthan to Vidharbha and Madhya Pradesh, with north-westerlies blowing over the region. Temperatures are likely to increase in Telengana and Madhya Maharashtra as well. A cyclonic circulation is prevailing over Bihar and adjoining region and a trough from this is extending up to Andhra Pradesh across Jharkhand and Odisha. We can expect dust storm and thunderstorm activities over the places across the trough line. Another cyclonic circulation prevailing over northeast region will continue to give scattered rain over the northeastern states with isolated heavy rain over Meghalaya, Assam and Sub Himalayan West Bengal.

Moving to South India, Pre-Monsoon activity has reduced over Southern peninsular region. Tomorrow rain will be confined to Kerala and adjoining interior parts of Tamil Nadu only.

Mercury will once again soar in Delhi as maximum temperature is expected to reach around 42 degrees. Bhopal will settle around 44 degrees. While, weather in Mumbai will be hot and humid with maximum temperature hovering around 35 degrees.

Day temperatures in south India are also on rise in absence of any weather activity. Maximum temperature in Chennai and Bangalore will settle around 38 and 32 degrees, respectively.
