Weather Forecast for Jan 11: Cold wave conditions in Punjab, Rajasthan; Snow in Arunachal

January 10, 2017 5:05 PM |

Dry and cold winds from north-northwest direction have already reduced minimum temperatures over the northwest plains. This led to cold wave conditions over parts of Punjab, Southwest Haryana and Northwest Rajasthan. With these icy winds, minimums will continue to drop further. Frost is also expected at many places over this region.

Coming to Central and East India, both the areas will witness drop in night temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius during next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, scattered light rain and snow is expected over Arunachal Pradesh. The weather over rest of northeastern states will remain dry.

Down South, the well-marked low pressure area over East Bay of Bengal continues to persist, hence scattered rain and thundershowers will continue over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light rain may occur at one or two places over Kerala. Rest of South Peninsula will remain dry.
