Weather Forecast for Jan 8: Snow in Kashmir, Himachal, Rain in Punjab, Delhi

The Western Disturbance is still moving across Jammu and Kashmir and will gradually move away from the region. Though intensity of rain and snow will reduce but good snow will continue over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand on Sunday, reducing thereafter.

Meanwhile, the induced cyclonic circulation over Punjab has now shifted to Uttar Pradesh, while another fresh induced cyclonic circulation is seen over North Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab. With this, light rainfall may occur Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and Delhi NCR. North Punjab could also hailstorm over few parts.

Meanwhile, Central India will continue with clear and dry weather with no major change in the temperature profile.

Anti-cyclone is marked over Odisha and adjoining areas, which will continue to infuse moisture over East India, resulting in moderate fog over parts of East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar.

Down South, the well-marked low pressure area over South Andaman Sea continues to persist and so does the moderate to heavy will also carry on over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Meanwhile, a trough is extending along Kerala coast, which could give some isolated showers over the state, while rest of South India will continue to be dry.
