Bangladesh vs India, 3rd ODI, Dhaka: Final showdown likely to be a rainy affair

June 23, 2015 5:42 PM |

India Bangladesh 3rd ODI WeatherThe Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka is all set to host the third and final ODI between Bangladesh and India on Wednesday.  Bangladesh have won the first two games and have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. India on the other hand have failed to even challenge the hosts.

So far, weather has been merciful causing only one interruption during the first game and a couple of interruptions during the second ODI. But a lot of weather activity is expected on Wednesday.

There are chances of rain and thundershowers in the afternoon and in the evening. Cloudy weather is likely to persist throughout the course of the match. Moderate to heavy showers are likely in the first half of the match. Other than this, on and off light rain will continue throughout the day. Simply speaking, multiple and frequent interruptions can be expected in Dhaka during the third ODI.

MS Dhoni has been under fire for suffering India’s first ever series defeat against minnows Bangladesh. The men in blue are currently riddled with on and off field controversies as well as poor form. The team has not been able to strike a balance and key players have shown only traces of form. On the other hand, Bangladesh have never looked better. The team’s newfound energy and confidence has helped them win their maiden series win against two-time world champions India. A victory at Dhaka will give Bangladesh a perfect 3-0 series win.

If rain allows play on Wednesday, India will be playing for pride. Bangladesh on the other hand cannot afford to become complacent as they’ll be playing one of the best one-day sides in recent times. However, it doesn’t matter which way the pendulum swings, as Bangladesh has already qualified for the Champions Trophy. How the weather fares on match day remains to be seen. But a lot of criticism is already raining upon Dhoni and his men. Skymet will keep you updated on weather, cricket, and more as the series concludes on what is likely to be a rainy day.
