November 28, 2015 1:09 PM |

Rain in RajasthanAccording To Skymet Meteorology Division in India, several parts of Central and West India are expected to receive a spell of unseasonal rains during next two to three days. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected over parts of East Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and Southeast Rajasthan between November 29 and December 01.

At present, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. A trough is also seen extending from this system up to South Gujarat. Due to this, moist southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea are blowing over these areas with cloudy sky.

In wake of this activity, maximum temperatures will settle below normal by at least three to four degrees. While, minimum temperatures will be slightly above normal due to cloud cover and increased levels of humidity.

Following are affected districts across the region:

As per Skymet, the rain belt will shift eastwards and cover more parts of Central and East India from December 02. Areas will include Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

Rains during this period are very rare over these parts of the country. However, they will be beneficial for restoring moisture levels in the soil ahead of sowing season of Rabi crop.

Normally, Western Disturbance results in an induced cyclonic circulation over parts of Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh during the winter season. However, rain activity is only confined to North Rajasthan.
