Fresh Monsoon system in Bay to give good rains over East Coast

Fresh Monsoon system in Bay to give good rains over East CoastDuring the Southwest Monsoon season, several weather systems in either Bay of Bengal or Arabian Sea activate the Monsoon current and result in widespread rain over several parts of the country. Most of the rainfall activity during this period takes place due to these weather systems.

Out of the two, the Bay of Bengal happens to be the more active one and hosts several Monsoon systems which result in heavy rains over many areas. This year also, back to back Monsoon systems in Bay have resulted in heavy rains over East Coast, Central India and even several parts of the Peninsular India.

At present, a fresh Monsoon system in the form of an upper air cyclonic circulation has developed in the east-central Bay of Bengal. Conditions seem favourable for further intensification of this weather system and under its influence a low pressure area is also likely to develop over north-west Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours.

Due to this weather system, Monsoon surge is expected to get activated along the East Coast of India. In fact, good rains are expected to occur over several parts of East Coast particularly Odisha as well as Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 to 48 hours. So much so that some areas may also receive heavy rains.

Thereafter, the Monsoon system may also undergo further intensification. During the next 24 to 48 hours, good rains may also occur over Interior Peninsular India including Telangana. Thereafter, rain may further spread over Central India including Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
