Vidarbha Rains Southwest Monsoon has been active over Maharashtra for the last few days. Particularly Vidarbha region in the state has been receiving good rainfall. This spell of rainfall could be attributed to a Monsoon system lingering on over the region for quite some time now.

As of now, the low pressure area is lying over Vidarbha and adjoining areas of South Chhattisgarh and Southeast Madhya Pradesh.

Bramhapuri received 60 mm of rainfall in span of 21 hours from 8.30 am on Monday. During this time period Nagpur also recorded 30 mm of rainfall.

Skymet Weather predicts that this weather system will prevail over the region for another 24 to 48 hours. Therefore, rains will continue over Vidarbha.

Moreover, we can see another cyclonic circulation lingering over North Andaman Sea and adjoining areas. According to Skymet Weather, this weather system will gradually move towards the Vidarbha region, bringing some more Monsoon showers.

Maharashtra has received good rains throughout the Monsoon season this year. In fact, the month of September has been especially good for the state. This is because of successive development of weather systems in close proximity to the region. Moreover, all the weather systems originating in the Bay ofd Bengal has traveled up to Central India.
