Rain in Bangalore makes a comeback, likely to continue

May 2, 2016 4:57 PM |

rainBangalore weather has turned pleasant once again. As reiterated by Skymet, the silicon city which was reeling under scorching conditions has finally received its first spell of Pre-Monsoon showers during the month of May.

A few convective clouds developed over Bangalore resulting in light drizzle over some parts of the city. These rains are a result of the wind discontinuity which is presently seen from Vidarbha to Tamil Nadu across South Interior Karnataka passing close to Bangalore.

This spell has taken social media by storm as the residents of Bangalore were desperately waiting for some relief from the scorching summer heat.

As convective clouds are on the horizon, short spells of thundershowers are likely to be observed in several parts of the capital city of Karnataka for the next few hours.

However, for the ones worrying about the nail-biting contest between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chinnaswamy Stadium can take a deep breath. The rains are likely to stop before the commencement of the game. However, the possibility of a spell in between cannot be ruled out.

A few spells of thundershowers can also take place during the late night and early morning hours. On and off Pre-Monsoon showers will continue until May 7. Thus, the residents can heave a sigh of relief for at least some time.
