One Nation – One Agriculture – One Team: A Unified Vision for India’s Agri-Future

Nagpur, May 18, 2025 — At the recently held Krishi Samvaad under the Vikasit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan in Nagpur, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan unveiled a visionary initiative titled "One Nation – One Agriculture – One Team".

The program aims to align institutions, policies, and people under a unified mission to empower Indian farmers, enhance productivity, and build a self-reliant agricultural ecosystem.

A National Call for Collaboration

The initiative was announced in the presence of key dignitaries including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate, Director General of ICAR Dr. M.L. Jat, and various policymakers, scientists, and farmers.

Speaking at the event, Chouhan emphasized the importance of synergy across different arms of the agricultural sector. He highlighted that when the Central Government, State Governments, ICAR institutions, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, MPs, MLAs, scientists, and field officers work together, agriculture in India can witness transformative growth.

The “One Nation – One Agriculture – One Team” initiative proposes unified action across the following bodies:

  • Central & State Agriculture Ministries
  • Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) & Krishi Vigyan Kendras
  • Agricultural Scientists & Extension Officers
  • Members of Parliament (MPs), MLAs & Policy Experts

Together, these stakeholders will collaborate to strengthen agricultural policy implementation, research dissemination, and farmer outreach.

Major Announcements at the Event

As part of the broader roadmap, several key announcements were made:

  • Setting up of a Clean Plant Lab in Pune under the Clean Plant Program for research on pure and disease-free plant species.
  • Inauguration of the National Soil Spectral Library in Maharashtra, making it the first state with a comprehensive soil map.
  • Launch of AI-Based Smart Trap Technology for detecting and managing pink bollworm in cotton crops.
  • A 15-day campaign (May 29–June 12) where ICAR scientists and extension officers will visit villages to educate farmers on sustainable practices and Kharif planning.
