As per reports, Black Pepper production in the country during 2015-16 is expected to decline to about 50,000 ton against 70,000 ton in 2014-15 due to drought and other erratic weather conditions in Kerala and Karnataka. Karnataka is the major producer of Black Pepper in India accounting about 47% of the production followed by Kerala which accounts for 40%.
