The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister, hiked the minimum support price (MSP) for chickpea or chana by Rs 75 to Rs 3175 per quintal for the current season ending June. Chickpea sowing is started in the key producing states of India. Present cool weather condition is favorable for chana crop growth.
